A Dazzle of Zambian Zebras

The Zebra is a black skinned animal with white stripes. The stripes are so unique to each individual zebra very much like a humans fingerprint. The white stripes on the black skin make the skin shiny and it dissipates 70 % of the intense African sun .

The Zambian zebra is known as the Crayshays (Burchells) zebra. It is a subspecies of the plains zebra. They are unique to the Luangwa River and are different than the plains zebra. They have narrower stripes and do not have the shadowing brown color that plains zebras have. Their stripes are very unique. They also do not have an infundibulum which is the shape of the plain zebras incisor. Their incisors are flat and not cup like.

Zebras are in groups A DAZZLE of ZEBRA’s and look out for each other. When faced with a predator they form a circle and face the predator. A zebras kick can break a lions jaw. If a member gets hurt they encircle that member. They take care of the old and young alike.
